Sheikh Hassan Saleh- Surah al Baqarah Verses 1-24

-----------------------------------------------------

QUR'AN SURAH AL-KAHFI (The Cave) : Sheikh Mahmud Khalil Husary

Assalamu alaikum waraHmatullaahi wa barakaa-tuh,
.
The recommendation of reciting both the beginning and ending ten verses of Surat al-Kahf (the 18th sura of the Quran) has been transmitted from the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace).
.
It is also recommended to recite the entire sura on Fridays. Imam Mundhiri (Allah have mercy on him) devoted a chapter of his al-Targhib wal Tarhib (Encouragement and Warning) to this.
Encouraging reciting Surat Kahf, or Ten Verses from its Beginning or Ten from its End
Abu al-Darda (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:

"Whoever commits ten verses from the beginning Surat al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal."

[Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasai, and others; the wording is Muslims]
.
In a narration in Muslim and Abu Dawud it states, "From the end of Surat al-Kahf". Tirmidhi related is with the words:

"Whoever recites three verses from the beginning of al-Kahf will be protected from the tribulations of the Dajjal".

[Mundhiri, al-Targhib wal Tarhib, #2172-2173]
.
Imam Shafi`i (Allah have mercy on him) said in his "Kitab al-Umm",

"It has reached us that whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Fridays will be protected from the Dajjal."

[Shafi`i, al-Umm, 1.239]

Du'a - when beginning of lesson, when in learning & seeking knowledge.

Traditionally, when learning or seeking knowledge especially in Islam, the Adab taught to us, is to begin with Du'a.
This practice need to be revived, because true knowledge and guidance is only that which is bestowed by Allah s.w.t.; lest arrogance in some people who may foolishly assume in himself/herself to be capable of learning on their own.
May Allah s.w.t. preserve us from such misguidance, and grant us what we request (especially as contained) in this Du'a.
You may include many other du'a - only, just remember that "ad-Du'a, is the marrow of your 'ibaadah".
BarakaLlaahu feek

"Wisdom in Patience, Struggle & Striving"

"A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. It seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could. and it could go no further.
.
.
The man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, whic would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It was never able to fly.
.
.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were Allah's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
.
.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If Allah allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never "fly"!

---------------------------------------------

Al-Maseeh Ad-Dajjal: among the great signs of the last hour and the greatest trials to befall mankind, which every Prophet has warned about. Most of mankind will follow him. He will appear from Asbahan (Isfahan), Iran at the time when the Muslims will conquer Constantinople. He will be given special powers and will make the truth seem false and vice versa. He will claim to be righteous and then he will claim prophethood and finally, divinity. From his features is that he will be blind in his right eye which is a definite proof that contradicts his claim to be Allah as it is a sign of imperfection. The word Kafir will be written between his eyes which every believer, literate or illiterate will recognise.

RECITATION OF "HIZB AL-BAHR"

"LITANY OF THE SEA"

--------------------------------------------------
MEANING OF THE RECITATION
--------------------------------------------

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

Blessings of Allah and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family.

O Allah, O Exalted One, O Gentle One,

O All-Knowing One,

Thou art my Lord, and Thy knowledge is sufficient for me. What an excellent Lord is my Lord! What a wonderful sufficiency is my sufficiency!

Thou plea to Thee is for protection, in movements and moments of rest, in words, desires, and passing thoughts, from doubts, suppositions and fancies-veilings, they, over hearts, occluding sight of the unseen.

The faithful were tried; They were severely shaken. Then the hypocrites would say, with those of disease-ridden hearts, "Allah and His Messenger promised us only delusion. (Q. 33:11- 12)

Even so, make us firm, aid us, and subject to us this sea, as Thou did subject the sea to Moses, and the fire to Ibrahim, and the mountains and iron to David, and the wind, the Satans, and the jinn to Solomon.

Put in subjection to us every sea of thine in earth and heaven, in this domain and the celestial, the sea of this world and the sea of the next. Render subservient to us every thing, "0 Thou, whose hand holds sovereignty over every thing" (Q. 23:88).

Kaf ha' ya' 'ayn swod
Kaf ha' ya' 'ayn swod
Kaf ha' ya' 'ayn swod

Help us, for Thou art the best of helpers.
Open to us the hand of mercy, for Thou art the best of openers.
Pardon us, for Thou art the best of pardoners.

Be compassionate toward us, for Thou art the best of those who show compassion.

Sustain us, for Thou art the best of sustainers. Guide us and rescue us from the unjust people.

Send us a gentle breeze, as Thou dost know how to do, and let it blow on us from the storehouses of Thy mercy. Let it bear us along as it by miraculous intervention, with security and well-being, in religion, worldly affairs, and the hereafter.

Thou art powerful over all things. Allah, facilitate for us our affairs, with ease of mind and body, with security and well-being in religious and worldly matters. Be a companion for us on our journey, and a substitute for our households.

Blot out the countenances of our enemies, and transform them where they stand, disabling them from leaving or coming to us. If We willed, We would blot out their eyes. Yet, they would race forward to the path. But how would they see? If We willed, We should transform them where they stand. Thus, they would be unable to leave or return (Q 36:66-67).

Ya' sin! By the Wise Qur' an! Surely thou art one of those sent on a straight path! A revelation sent down by the Mighty, the Merciful, that thou mightest warn a people whose fathers had not been warned. Yet, they do not take heed.

The declaration has been confirmed against the greater part of them. Yet they do not believe. We have circled their necks with chains up to the chin, but they hold their heads high. Before them have We placed a barrier, and behind them a barrier, and We have obscured their vision; so they see not (Q 36:1-8).

May their faces be deformed!
May their faces be deformed!
May their faces be deformed!

Let their faces be submissive before the Living, the Self- Subsistent, For he who is laden with wrong has already met frustration. Ta' sin, ha' mim, 'ayn sin qof. (Q 27:1)

He has released the two seas that meet; Yet between them is a barrier [barzakh] that they do not overpass. ...(Q 55:19-20)

Ha' mim, ha' mim, ha' mim, ha' mim, ha' mim, ha' mim, ha' mim! (Q 40:1)

The affair has been decreed. The triumph has come. Over us they shall not triumph. Ha' mim!

[It is] the sending down of the Scripture from Allah, The Mighty, the All-Knowing, Forgiver of sin,

Receiver of penitence, Severe in punishing, Forbearing. No god is there except Him. To Him is the returning. (Q 40:1-3)

"In the name of Allah" (bismillah) is our door.

"Blessed be Allah" (TabaarokAllaah) be our walls.
"Ya' sin" (Q 36:1) is our ceiling.
"Kaf ha' ya' 'ayn sad" (Q 19:1) is our sufficiency.

"Ha' mim 'ayn sin qof" (Q 42:1) is our shelter.

So Allah is sufficient for thee against them, for He hears all, knows all.
[Repeat this thrice]

The veil of the throne has been dropped over us, and the eye of Allah is gazing at us. Allah is behind them, round about. Indeed, it is a glorious recital [Qur'an], inscribed on a guarded tablet [lawh mahfuz] (Q. 85:20-21). [Repeat this thrice]

My Protector is Allah, Who revealed the Book (from time to time), and He will choose and befriend the righteous. (Q. 7:196) [Repeat this thrice]

M y sufficiency is Allah. No god is there except Him. In Him have I put my trust, For He is Lord of the majestic throne (Q. 9:129). [Repeat this thrice]

In the name of Allah, with whose Name nothing in the earth or sky can do harm, for He is the All-Hearer, All-Knower.
[Repeat this thrice]

I seek refuge with all the perfect Words (kalimah) of Allah, from every evil in creation. [Repeat this thrice]

There is no force and no power except with Allah, the High, the Mighty. [Repeat thrice]

And may salutations and the blessings of Allah be upon our Master Muhammad and his Family and Companions, and the peace .

Al-ladzii- kho-la-qo-nii fa-hu-wa yah-dee-n

"Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;

Wal-ladzii- hu-wa yutw- 'ee-mu-nii- wa-yas-qee-n

"Who gives me food and drink

Wa-idzaa ma-ridw-tu fa hu-wa yash- fee-n

"And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me;

Wal-ladzii yu-mee-tu-nee- thum-ma yuH-yee-n

"Who will cause me to die, and then to live (again);

"And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Judgment…

O my Lord! Bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;

"Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);

QUR'AN: SURAH 84 - AL-INSHIQAQ (Rent Assunder)

I-dzas-sa-maa -
un- shaq-qot

When the Sky is rent asunder

Wa-a-dzinat- li-rob-biha
wa- Huq-qot

And hearkens to (the Command of) its
Lord--and it must needs (do so

Wa-idzal- ardwu mud-dat

And when the Earth is flattened out

Wa-al-qot maa-fee-ha
wa-ta-khol-lat

And casts forth what is within it
and becomes (clean) empty

Wa-a-dzi-nat - li-rob-bi-ha
wa -Huq-qat

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord--and it must
needs (do so)--(then will come Home the full Reality

Yaa- ay-yu-hal in-saa-nu
in-naka kaa-di-Hun i-laa
rob-bika kad-Ham
fa-mu-laa-qee-h

O thou man! verily thou art ever toiling
on towards the Lord― painfully toiling
but thou shalt meet Him

Fa-am-maa man uu-tiya
ki-taa-bahuu bi-yamee-nih

Then he who is given his Record in his Right hand

Fa-sau-fa yu-Haa-sa-bu
Hi-saa-bay-ya-see-ro

Soon will his account be taken by
an easy reckoning,

Wa-yanq-qo-li-bu i-laa-
ah-li-hi mas-ruu-ro

And he will turn to his people, rejoicing

Wa-am-maa man uu-ti-ya
ki-taa-ba-hu wa-ro -a-Zoh-rih

But he who is given his Record behind his back

Fa-sau-fa yad- 'uu -thu-buu-ro

Soon will he cry for Perdition

Wa-yasw-laa sa-'ee-ro

And he will enter a Blazing Fire

In-na-huu kaa-na fee-ah
-li-hii mas-ruu-ro

Truly, did he go about among his
people, rejoicing

In-na-huu - Zon-na
- anlan-ya-Huu-r

Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us

Ba-laa in-na rob-bahuu
kaa-na bi-hii ba-swii-ro

Nay nay! For his Lord was (ever) watchful of him

Fa-laa uq-si-mu bis-- sha-faq,
wal-lai-li wa-maa wa-soq

So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset
The Night and its Homing

Wal-qo-ma-ri-  i-dzaat-ta-saq

And the Moon in her Fullness

La-tar-kabun-na
twa-ba-qon -
an- twa-baq

Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage

Fa-maa la-hum laa-yu'-mi-nuu-n

What then is the matter with them, that
 they believe not
?―

Wa-i-dza-qu-ri-a- 'alay-hi-mul-
 Qur-'aanu laa yas-ju-duu-n

And when the Qur'an is read to them, they
fall not prostrate

Ba-lil-ladzii-na ka-fa-ruu
yu-kadz-dzi-buu-n

But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject it

WalLaa-hu a'-lamu
bi-maa yuu-'uu-n

But Allah has full Knowledge of what they
 secrete (in their breasts

Fa-bash-shir-hum
bi-'adzaa-bin- aa-lee-m

So announce to them a Penalty Grievous

Il-lal-la-dzii-na aa-ma-nuu
wa- 'ami-lus-swo-li-Haa-ti
la-hum aj-run ghoy-ru
mam-nuu-n

Except to those who believe and work
righteous deeds: for them is a Reward
that will never fail.
