Wal-lai-li idzaa- yagh-shaa
By the Night as it conceals (the light);
Wan-na-haa-ri i-dzaa ta-jal-laa
By the Day as it appears in glory;
Wa-maa kho-loqadz-
dza-kara wal- un-thaa
By (the mystery of) the creation
of male and female―
In-na sa'-ya-kum la-shat-taa
Verily (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.
Fa-am-maa man a'-twaa
wat-ta-qo
So he who gives (in charity)
and fears (Allah),
Wa-swod - da-qo bil - Hus-naa
And (in all sincerity) testifies to the Best―
Fa-sa-nu-yas-si-ru-hu
lil- yus-ro
We will indeed make smooth
for him the path to Bliss.
Wa - am-maa- mam-ba-khila
was-tagh-naa
But he who is a greedy miser
and thinks himself self-sufficient.
Wa-kadz-dza-ba bil Hus-naa
And gives the lie to the Best―
Fa-sa-nu-yas-si-ru-hu lil - 'us-ro
We will indeed make smooth
for him the Path to Misery;
Wa maa-yugh-nii - 'an-hu
maa-lu-huu - idzaa- ta-rod-daa
Nor will his wealth profit him when
he falls headlong (into the Pit).
In-na- 'alay-naa lal-hudaa
Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide.
Wa-in-na lana-lal-aa-khi-rota
-wal- uu-laa
And verily unto Us (belong) the End
and the Beginning.
Fa-an-dzar- tu-kum naa-ron ta-laz-Zo
Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;
Laa-yasw- laa-haa il-lal- ash-qo
None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones
Al-ladzii- kadz-dza-ba -wa- tawal-laa
Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.
Wa-sa-yu-jan-na-bu-hal- at-qo
But those most devoted to Allah
shall be removed far from it―
Al-ladzii - yu'-tii- maa-
lahuu ya-ta-zak-kaa
Those who spend their wealth
for increase in self-purification,
Wa-maa- li-aHa-din - 'in-da-hu
min-ni'-matin-tuj-zaa
And have in their minds no favour from
anyone for which a reward is expected in return,
Il-lab-ti-ghaa- a waj-h
rob-bi-hil- a'-laa
But only the desire to seek for the
countenance of their Lord Most High.
Wa- la- sau-fa yar-dwa
And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.
