بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
Was-samaa-i- wat- twaa-riq
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein
وَمَآ أَدۡرَٮٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
Wa-maa- ad-ro-ka mat- twaa-riq
And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is
?―
ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
An-naj-muth- thaa-qib
It is the Star of piercing brightness
―
إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ۬ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡہَا حَافِظٌ۬
In-kul-lu naf-sinl-lam-maa
- 'alay-haa - Haa-fiZ
There is no soul but has a protector over it
.
فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
Fal-yan-Zu-ril- in-saa-nu
mim-ma khu-liq
Now let man but think from what he is created
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ۬ دَافِقٍ۬
Khu-li-qa mim- maa-in- daa-fiq
He is created from a drop emitted
―
يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآٮِٕبِ
Yakh- ru-ju mim-bai-nis-swul
bi- wat-ta-ro-ib
Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs
إِنَّهُ ۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ۬
In-na-huu- 'alaa- roj-'i-hii- la-qo- dir
Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life
يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآٮِٕرُ
Yau-ma-tub-las- sa-ro- ir
The Day that (all) things secret will be tested
فَمَا لَهُ ۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ۬ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ۬
Fa-maa- la-huu minq-quw-
watin-wa-laa naa-swir
Man will have no power, and no helper
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ
Was-sa-maa-i- dzaa-tir-roj-'i
By the Firmament which returns (in its round
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ
Wal-ardwi- dzaa-tis- swod-'i
And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing
of springs or the sprouting of vegetation
إِنَّهُ ۥ لَقَوۡلٌ۬ فَصۡلٌ۬
In-na-huu la-qaw-lum fasw-l
Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ
Wa-maa huwa bil- hazl
It is not a thing for amusement
إِنَّہُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدً۬ا
In-na-hum ya-kee-duu-na kai-daa
As for them, they are but plotting a scheme
وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدً۬ا
Wa- a-kee-du kai-daa
And I am planning a scheme
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا
Fa-mah-hi-lil- kaa-fi-ree-na
am-hil-hum- ru-wayi-daa
Therefore grant a delay to the unbelievers: give respite
to them gently (for a while
