QUR'AN: SURAH 87 - AL-A'LA (The Most High)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى 

Sab-bi-His-ma rob-bi-kal- a'-laa

Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High 

 ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ 

Al-ladzii-khola-qo fa-sau-waa

Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion

 وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ 

Wal-ladzii- qod-da-ro-fa-ha-daa

Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance

 وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ 

Wal-ladzii- akh-ro-jal- mar- 'aa

And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture

 فَجَعَلَهُ ۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ 

Fa-ja- 'aa-la-huu - ghu-thaa-an- aH-waa

And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble

 سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ 

Sa-nuq-ri-uka- fa-laa - tan-saa

By degrees shall We teach thee to declare the Message 

so thou shalt not forget

 إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ

إِنَّهُ ۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ 

Il-laa -maa-shaa- Allaah

in-na-huu ya'-lamul-jah-ro 

wa-maa yakh-faa

Except as Allah wills 

For He knoweth what is manifest 

and what is hidden

 وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ 

Wa-nu-yas-si-ruka-lil- yus-ro

And We will make it easy for 

thee (to follow) the simplePath

 

 فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ 

Fa-dzak-kir in-na-fa-'a-tidz-dzik-ro

Therefore give admonition in case the 

admonition profits -the hearer

 سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ 

Sa-yadz-dzak-ka-ru man-yakh-shaa

The admonition will be received by those who fear Allah 

 وَيَتَجَنَّبُہَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى 

Wa-ya-ta-jan na-bu-hal - ash-qo

But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones

 ٱلَّذِى يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ 

Al-la-dzii- yasw-lan-naa-rol-qubro

Who will enter the Great Fire

 ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيہَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Tsum-ma- laa ya-muu-tu 

fee-ha wa-laa yaHya

In which they will then neither die nor live

 قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ 

Qod-af-la-Haman ta-zak-kaa

But those will prosper who purifies themselves

 وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ 

Wa-dza-ka-ros-ma rob-bi-hii fa-swol-laa

And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, 

and (lift their hearts) in Prayer

 

 بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا 

Bal- tu'-thi-ruu-nal- Ha-yaa tad-dun-yaa

Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world

 

وَٱلۡأَخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ۬ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ 

Wal- aa-khi-ro-tu khay-rum-wa-ab-qo

But the Hereafter is better and more enduring

 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ 

In-na haa-dzaa la-fis-swu- Hu-fil- uu-laa

And this is in the Books of the earliest Revelations

 

 صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ 

Swu-Hu-fi - ib-ro-hee-ma- wa -muu-sa

The Books of Abraham and Moses
